Bluefin Trevally are plentiful and common catch. Most fun is catching a blue jack with  a surface popper.  Most Bluefin Trevally we’ve captured bit a rapalla diving lure while trolling for mixed bag inshore.

Bluefin Trevally are sure pretty fish, strong too. They hunt in packs along shorelines, feeding very aggressively. Don’t like to hurt these at all, and not worth filleting out since they are sort of tough.

Appearance

Bluefin Trevally are known to have deep bodies, sleek and streamlined for agility and speed. Blue Trevally have iridescent brassy bodies or gray color and blue-black spots that are scattered around the mid rear body.

Their anal fins and second dorsal caudal are made of an electric blue color.

The Bluefin Trevally are known to be solitary fish species. However, they can be found in small groups. For game fishing, they are special fish species. They are very strong swimmers. As a result, they can travel for long searching for food.

Something special about Blue Trevally is that they have the ability to camouflage. Their blue color give them an advantage to camouflage in water masses.
