The Whitetip Shark has a slim build and can grow up to 8 feet and weigh up to 50 pounds.

They are usually found inhabiting the following:

  • Sandy Flats
  • Lagoons
  • Deep drop offs

While this fish is social, it prefers to hunt at night. The reason being is they are much slower than other type of fish and sharks. They typically eat:

  • Crustaceans
  • Octopus
  • Lobsters
  • Crabs
  • Wrasses

The Whitetip reef sharks slender body makes it quite easy to slither in tight crevices to “attack” its prey. However, it’s not an aggressive fish when anglers and other humans invade its environment. Its calm manner makes it an easy and enjoyable catch.  Also, its striking beauty makes it a pleasant sight to see among snorkelers.
